THE 2014 DALLAS BIENNIAL: DB14

Over 50 national and international artists to exhibit work in multiple Dallas venues.


The 2014 Dallas Biennial (DB14) takes place February through May in Dallas, Texas with exhibitions, performances and lectures staged throughout the metropolitan area. During the four-month event, work will be displayed in non-profit spaces, galleries, warehouses, artist-run spaces, corporate offices, a billboard and a magazine. Marking a transition from internet to physical exhibitions, DB14 is pleased to announce its partnership with host venues: The Goss Michael Foundation, The Power Station, The McKinney Avenue Contemporary, Oliver Francis Gallery, Beefhaus Gallery, Eastfield College, Richland College, UTD CentralTrak and semigloss. Magazine.

 
Eastfield College will host an exhibition February 7 – 28 with a reception on February 7, from 5-7pm

DB14 Artists Exhibiting at Eastfield College Include: Jeff Gibbons, Tamara Johnson, Francisco Moreno, Marjorie Schwarz, Brad Tucker, and Michael Vorfeld.

 
About The Dallas Biennial:
The Dallas Biennial (DB) is an artist run biennial and non-profit. “We look to the now ubiquitous format as a means to advocate art production and investigate exhibition and curation. Each biennial will be labeled DB, followed by the year of its launch. This year is DB14."

Directed by artists Michael Mazurek and Jesse Morgan Barnett, The Dallas Biennial commenced in 2012 with a two-year long internet based event entitled, DB12: Volume 1– 4.

 
About the Curators:
Michael Mazurek and Jesse Morgan Barnett are Dallas based artists who received their MFA’s in Intermedia from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2011.

Directions to Eastfield College:
From I-30 take Exit 54 toward Big Town Blvd. Take Big Town Blvd North which turns into La Prada. From La Prada take a right on Carol Brown Dr. Go right on Eastfield Parkway and park in the W3 parking lot (on your left). The H Gallery is located off the lower courtyard between the Fine Arts building (Bldg. “F”) and the Campus Center (Bldg. “C”) in H100.
