January 21– February 14.
Reception: January 24, 6 - 8 pm
Gallery 219 at Eastfield College

Visually poetic, David Willburn’s newest body of works on paper is both a departure and reaffirmation of his previous embroidered drawings of domestic spaces.  Continuing to work within the themes of the rituals and memories of environments and objects, Willburn creates austere and highly-abstracted works based on photographs taken in his home and studio.  These gestures serve as documentations of the artist's relationships with the spaces he occupies, the daily use of objects, and the stories they tell.

David Willburn was born in Fort Stockton, Texas and grew up in the Panhandle and South Plains regions of the state before moving to Dallas.  He earned his MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts and serves as faculty at Eastfield College.  He currently lives and works in Fort Worth, Texas.
